Christian Academy of Knoxville (Knoxville, Tenn.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 21 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 44-34 victory over
Elizabethton (Tenn.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Charlie High in the second quarter, the Warriors led 34-13 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 21 entering the fourth.
Ethan Thomas played well for the Fighting Cyclones. The sophomore running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.
Christian Academy of Knoxville's standout player in the win was
Davis Howell. The senior wide receiver threw one touchdown. He has now scored 20 touchdowns on the season.
Elizabethton came in allowing just 11.5 points per game this season. EHS struggled against CAK, which came in averaging 45.6 points per game.
The loss comes after Elizabethton defeated Sullivan North 41-38 last week. With the win the Knoxville school extended its winning streak to four games.
