The Richland Colts will be playing at home against the Rothsay Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Richland is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rothsay in their respective states (Richland is ranked 101st in North Dakota, while Rothsay is ranked 379th in Minnesota).
Richland had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 51-42 win over Wyndmere/Lidgerwood on Thursday.
Casyn Syvertsen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Nick Wulfekuhle was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Rothsay suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Wheaton/Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley/Herman-Norcross. Rothsay just can't catch a break and has now endured seven losses in a row.
Richland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Rothsay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Richland strolled past Rothsay in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 80-63. Does Richland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rothsay turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
