The Riverton Silverwolves can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Copper Hills by a score of 89-78. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Zach Edwards was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ben Barrus, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Riverton's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Copper Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverton will face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Riverton likes a good challenge. As for Copper Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Herriman's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Copper Hills has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
