Green Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Faith Lutheran, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Gators' pitcher stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 16-0 shutout on Monday. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Mia Mor Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Lyla Baxter was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Liliana Esparza, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Green Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Green Valley's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Faith Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Valley will head out to face off against Silverado at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Faith Lutheran, they will venture away from home to take on Arbor View at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Aggies will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight.
