The DeLand Bulldogs will take on the West Port Wolf Pack at TBD on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, DeLand didn't have too much trouble with the Panthers at home as they won 61-43. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win DeLand has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeLand to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bart Campbell, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season. Beegie Gordon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Port's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Vanguard at home by a decisive 73-56 margin. While losing is never fun, West Port can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Knights are ranked 166th).
DeLand's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for West Port, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
DeLand couldn't quite finish off the Wolf Pack in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 and fell 63-61. Can DeLand avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
