Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Falls Despite Big Games from Brandon Rabish and Caden Gibbons

If Penn Cambria was feeling good fresh off their 76-50 takedown of Richland last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Penn Cambria Panthers took a 77-63 bruising from the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Marauders are ranked 59th).

Caden Gibbons and Brandon Rabish certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gibbons went 7 for 9 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, while Rabish went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The match was Rabish's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Lilly, who posted 12 points.

Penn Cambria's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penn Cambria has already played their next game (against Bedford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop Guilfoyle has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Huntingdon.
