Two dominant players in SirMister Harriel and Aidan Triplet are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Antelope Titans will be playing at home against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Antelope knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Woodcreek likes a good challenge.
Antelope pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Roseville by a score of 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Antelope has suffered yet this season.
Woodcreek posted their biggest victory since December 28, 2023 on Monday. They blew past Roseville 70-39 on the road. Given Woodcreek's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Roseville is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Triplet was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Michael Kirby, Jr., who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Antelope's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Woodcreek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Antelope lost to Woodcreek at home by a decisive 72-54 margin in their previous meeting on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Woodcreek's Max VanLaningham, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Now that Antelope knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
