The Manchester Lancers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 72-54 victory over Huguenot on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Manchester also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Trevion Brown and Kaemon Smith certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Brown scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals, while Smith scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Hazel, who scored 12 points.
Manchester's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Huguenot, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Manchester will look to defend their home court on Friday against James River Midlothian at 7:15 p.m. As for Huguenot, they will head out on the road to face off against Monacan at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Monacan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
