The Oasis Sharks and the Immokalee Indians, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oasis has six straight victories, Immokalee has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Oasis proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 47) and last Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over Donahue Catholic. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 312th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oasis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Labbe led the charge by putting up 16 points and seven boards. Labbe has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Johnny Cernuska, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Immokalee came up short against Aubrey Rogers last Friday and fell 72-62. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten points.
Oasis will need to focus on slowing down Kendrick Perry, one of several Immokalee players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 50% from the field en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshon Jackson, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points.
Immokalee's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Oasis, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Oasis has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Immokalee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Oasis beat Immokalee 56-45 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
