The Brighton Bengals will face off against the Alta Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Brighton has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.
Things were looking good for Brighton after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Juan Diego Catholic, falling 15-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bengals have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Paisley Gallegos was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cynthia Knowlton was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Kaedence Springer was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alta). Everything went their way against Skyline on Thursday as they made off with a 25-11 win. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Alta got a massive performance out of Brielle Watson, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those five hits gave Watson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was June Sylvia, who went 3-for-6 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Alta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Alta, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Everything went Brighton's way against Alta in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Brighton made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Bengals repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
