The Laramie Plainsmen put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Fort Collins 79-56. Laramie's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Neil Summers, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jaden Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Fort Collins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayce King. Despite the final result, he scored 37 points. King scored a full 66.1% of Fort Collins' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Folkestad, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Fort Collins struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Laramie's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Fort Collins, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Laramie won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greeley West at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Greeley West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 308th in Colorado, while Laramie is ranked seventh in Wyoming). Fort Collins won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Northridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
