The Desert View Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Marana at home and fell 53-14. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Desert View in their matchups with Marana: they've now lost seven in a row.
Addison Brown was Desert View's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Alexsandra Arce held things down on the boards with two rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marana to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Griffin, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Corona, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Desert View has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Marana, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
Desert View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Catalina Foothills is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Marana, they will head out on the road to take on Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tucson High Magnet School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday.
