Basketball Game Preview: North Mahaska Warhawks vs. English Valleys Bears

North Mahaska is 10-0 against English Valleys since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Mahaska Warhawks will look to defend their home court against the English Valleys Bears at 7:30 p.m. North Mahaska knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully English Valleys likes a good challenge.

North Mahaska is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Keota just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 71-61 to the Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (59), the Warhawks still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, English Valleys took a blow against Montezuma on Tuesday, falling 75-38. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Braves are ranked 42nd).

English Valleys' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for North Mahaska, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 12-2.

Everything came up roses for North Mahaska against English Valleys in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 97-34 win. Will North Mahaska repeat their success, or does English Valleys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
