Gage Beard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Beard was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dreher Van Norman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hall, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Amite School Center's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.
