The Southeast Halifax Trojans put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Weldon with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Southeast Halifax has scored all year.
Southeast Halifax's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaizavion Lawrence led the charge by scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Johnson Jr., who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Southeast Halifax pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Weldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Southeast Halifax won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Corinth Holders at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Corinth Holders focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday. As for Weldon, they will head out on the road to face off against Tarboro at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
