The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers lost against the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Briarwood Academy took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Augusta Prep Day.
Despite the loss, Briarwood Academy still got an impressive performance from Sam Mock, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Mosley, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Briarwood Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Briarwood Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. As for Augusta Prep Day, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Briarwood Academy will challenge Edmund Burke Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Edmund Burke Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Augusta Prep Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thomas Jefferson Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
