Softball Recap: Silver Bluff Has No Trouble Against Swansea

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Horse Creek Academy, Silver Bluff was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Swansea Tigers. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Ryley Bowman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Isabella Kent was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Emma Widener was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Silver Bluff has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Swansea is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Silver Bluff will have a chance to go back-to-back against Swansea: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
