It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Clear Creek Golddiggers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Lyons 74-72. The win was just what Clear Creek needed coming off of a 73-49 loss in their prior match.
Collin Hendrickson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with two blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler O'Brien, who scored 22 points.
Clear Creek now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Lyons, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Clear Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gilpin County at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Gilpin County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Lyons, they will head out on the road to face off against Front Range Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
