The Haskell Haymakers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 27-6 walloping at the hands of Panama. Haskell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Panama apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Haskell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Ozinga. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Haskell's loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Central and 14-1 Gore (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.6% over those games). As for Panama, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Haskell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Panama will head out on the road to face off against Wyandotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Wyandotte is ranked 164th, while Panama is ranked 166th).
