After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Worthington Christian, the Patriot Prep Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over KIPP Columbus. For Patriot Prep Academy, this counts as revenge for the 62-60 defeat KIPP Columbus walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Dominic Sammons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Thomas, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Patriot Prep Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for KIPP Columbus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Patriot Prep Academy will be playing at home against Genoa Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Genoa Christian Academy is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, meaning Patriot Prep Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for KIPP Columbus, they will challenge Wellington School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wellington School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
