Van Dailey produced another solid performance rushing for 245 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Another back making a difference was Kade Shaw, who rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crimson Cliffs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 418 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crimson Cliffs' defense and their three sacks. Major Stokes was especially locked on to Timpanogos' QB and sacked him 2.5 times. Stokes has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Stansbury beat Mountain Crest 49-42 on Friday.
Crimson Cliffs better keep an eye on Brighton Reutzel. He was instrumental in Stansbury's win, throwing for 358 yards and six TDs while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 42 yards and one score. Reutzel has become a key player for the Stallions: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Stansbury's leading receiver Lincoln Reutzel was Brighton's top target yet again, picking up 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Stansbury didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Carter Cashmore led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Another thorn in Mountain Crest's side was Cole Tincher, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (3.5 for loss).
Stansbury's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Crimson Cliffs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Crimson Cliffs has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 361.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Stansbury struggles in that department as they've been averaging 391 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Crimson Cliffs came out on top in a nail-biter against Stansbury in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, sneaking past 24-21. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
