Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Angelina Insana, who posted 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 43 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Johnson, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Lely had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 61-17 win over Bonita Springs. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Aubrey Rogers better keep an eye on Fara Louissaint. She was instrumental in Lely's win, going 10 of 16 en route to 25 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigael Francois, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Lely was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Lely is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Aubrey Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Aubrey Rogers has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lely struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Aubrey Rogers was able to grind out a solid victory over Lely in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 45-38. Will Aubrey Rogers repeat their success, or does Lely have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
