Brownfield is 4-0 against Snyder since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Brownfield Cubs will be home for the holidays to greet the Snyder Tigers at 6:15 p.m. The timing isn't great for Brownfield: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Snyder has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Last Tuesday, Brownfield had just enough and edged Dimmitt out 43-40. The team ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Brownfield can attribute much of their success to Amery Pauda, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Lucy Guzman, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Snyder beat Andrews 46-34 on Tuesday. The win was just what Snyder needed coming off of a 65-38 defeat in their prior match.
Brownfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Snyder, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Brownfield strolled past Snyder in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 by a score of 62-47. Will Brownfield repeat their success, or does Snyder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
