Blue Mountain is 9-1 against Tamaqua since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Blue Raiders at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Blue Mountain was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mahanoy Area on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 12-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the match before.
Emily Leonard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emmerson Frie, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Hudock, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Tamaqua made sure to put some runs up on the board against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on Thursday. The Blue Raiders were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Red Raiders. The game was the first time the Blue Raiders have beaten the Red Raiders on their field since May 4, 2021.
Nico Conahan and Megan Linkhorst did most of the damage at the plate: Conahan went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Linkhorst went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Scott, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Tamaqua always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .737. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Blue Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Tamaqua, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-1.
Everything went Blue Mountain's way against Tamaqua in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Blue Mountain made off with a 19-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
