Bartlett is 1-9 against Munford since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bartlett Panthers take on Munford Cougars at 6:30 p.m.
Bartlett is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Des Arc, falling 6-0.
Nevaeh Craig was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Bartlett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenlee Suarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those two hits gave Suarez a new career-high. Molly Williams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Munford got themselves on the board against Raleigh-Egypt on Friday, but Raleigh-Egypt never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Pharaohs. Considering the Cougars have won three games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabriel Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joci Wilkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn McCain, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Munford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .826. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Munford's record now sits at 3-4. As for Bartlett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Bartlett suffered a grim 18-5 defeat to Munford in their previous meeting on March 3rd. Can Bartlett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
