Basketball Recap: Baker Piles Up the Points Against L.E.A.D. Academy

Baker lost to L.E.A.D. Academy back in February of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Baker Gators blew past the L.E.A.D. Academy Lions, posting a 70-34 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

AJ Chilton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 21 points. Another player making a difference was Terrance Clausell, who posted ten points.

L.E.A.D. Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Landon Palmer, who earned nine points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Holcomb, who had 13 points and five rebounds.

Baker is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Baker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 38-25 win against Paxton on the 21st. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Snook Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
