Palmer Trinity is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Oxbridge Academy is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Palmer Trinity Falcons will host the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palmer Trinity's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Wednesday, when they got past Miami Country Day's usually-dominant pitching crew. Palmer Trinity was the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Miami Country Day. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Mela Fajardo, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Cerda, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Fajardo wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palmer Trinity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Country Day only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, while Oxbridge Academy put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Pine Crest. Oxbridge Academy put the hurt on Pine Crest with a sharp 15-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the ThunderWolves considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Ella Bianco and Kaiya Glucksman did most of the damage at the plate: Bianco scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Glucksman scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Glucksman has posted since back in March of 2024. Isabella LaForte was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Oxbridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Palmer Trinity's win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both Palmer Trinity and Oxbridge Academy just can't seem to miss. Palmer Trinity has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Oxbridge Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palmer Trinity suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Oxbridge Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Palmer Trinity avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
