The Mount Vernon Patriots won the last time they faced the Utah School for the Deaf & Blind Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Mount Vernon took down the Eagles 50-32. Mount Vernon pushed the score to 44-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Gabe Jackson, who scored 15 points. Andrew McMurdie was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Mount Vernon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Utah School for the Deaf & Blind, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dugway the next time they take the court. Mount Vernon will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on February 14th.
