St. Patrick's Jake Schneider recorded the longest rushing play in Southern Michigan (8 Man) this season in his game against Tekonsha last week. Schneider scampered for 99 yards on the play and finished with 150 on the day as his team defeated the Indians.
St. Patrick extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tekonsha, 61-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for Patrick Russman's team.
The Shamrocks' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Collin Lay threw for 65 and one touchdown and Kyle Schrauben had 44 yards receiving. John Pline helped St. Patrick's passing attack out by catching one ball for 21 yards.
St. Patrick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Shamrocks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lay has thrown for 402 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Pline has nine catches for 213 yards. Lay also leads the league in rushing with 607 yards.
The marquee game in Southern Michigan (8 Man) this week will be the clash between St. Patrick and Burr Oak. The Shamrocks enters the contest ranked fifth in the state, while the Bobcats ranks 23rd.
Burr Oak and Litchfield played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Burr Oak eventually emerging with a 40-39 victory.
