Wapakoneta has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Perry Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perry took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wapakoneta, who comes in off a win.
After only 21 points in their last contest, Wapakoneta made sure to put some points up on the board against Rossford on Saturday. Everything went Wapakoneta's way against Rossford as Wapakoneta made off with a 58-32 victory. Given Wapakoneta's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Rossford is ranked 705th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Perry's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Shawnee an easy 55-34 victory.
Wapakoneta now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Wapakoneta beat Perry 58-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wapakoneta since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
