The Social Circle Redskins were the 54-50 winner over the Jasper County Hurricanes when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Social Circle took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hurricanes on Friday. Social Circle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Social Circle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Justin Russell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Brown, who scored nine points.
Social Circle has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Jasper County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Social Circle will take on the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prince Avenue Christian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Jasper County, they will play host again and welcome the Patriots, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
