Basketball Game Preview: Front Range Baptist Falcons vs. Loveland Classical Lions

The Front Range Baptist Falcons will face off against the Loveland Classical Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Front Range Baptist is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lyons just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 60-37 to the Lions. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Falcons struggled afterwards.

Despite their defeat, Front Range Baptist saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mark Sutton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 19 boards, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Sutton a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Pierce, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 32 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Loveland Classical came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Guardians 61-12. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

Loveland Classical pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.1 points. As for Front Range Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
