Madison Prep Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Livonia, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Madison Prep Academy was the clear victors by a 25-17 margin over Livonia on Monday. Madison Prep Academy's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kyndal Robertson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Robertson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tabrina Knighten, who went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Jasmin Robertson was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Madison Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, University Lab lost 16-4 to Holden on Monday.
London Harvey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
University Lab's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Madison Prep Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Madison Prep Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. However, it's not like University Lab struggles in that department as they've averaged .546. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
