Crofton is on a nine-game streak of home wins, while Bridgeport is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Crofton Warriors will take on the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Crofton took their game at home with ease, bagging a 60-8 win over Tri County Northeast. With Crofton ahead 54-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Will Steffen was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 97 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Fisher, who rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bridgeport was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Alma 70-20 at home.
Peyton Abbott was his usual excellent self, rushing for 258 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 34 receiving yards. Abbott is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played. Nikolas Weibert was another key contributor, rushing for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Their wins bumped Crofton to 9-0 and Bridgeport to 7-2.
