On Wednesday, the Xavier College Prep Gators faced the Hamilton Huskies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Xavier College Prep strolled past Hamilton with points to spare, taking the game 57-41. The victory was nothing new for Xavier College Prep as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was another big night for Sarah Miller, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Irene (Noelle) Guiamatsia, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Xavier College Prep's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.77 points. As for Hamilton, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Xavier College Prep will play host again and welcome Perry, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Xavier College Prep is ranked first). Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Basha at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Basha focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Monday.
