After a string of three wins, the Coastal Christian Centurions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 44-27 bruising from Cape Fear Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Coastal Christian has scored all season.
Coastal Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Adgent, who scored seven points.
Angelo Vega was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds for Cape Fear Academy. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Gibson, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Coastal Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Cape Fear Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal Christian will take on Southeastern Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeastern Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Cape Fear Academy, they will be playing at home against Greenfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Greenfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cape Fear Academy in North Carolina (Greenfield is ranked 34th, while Cape Fear Academy is ranked 126th).
