The Del Norte Nighthawks will challenge the Granite Hills Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Del Norte sitting on five straight wins and Granite Hills on 14.
Del Norte barely beat Mt. Carmel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Nighthawks never let the Sundevils get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory last Tuesday. Six seems to be a good number for the Nighthawks as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
The result came thanks to Cole Hoffman's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Richie Moore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sun, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills got the win against Valhalla on Thursday by a conclusive 12-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.
Luke Bailey made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bailey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Trevor Smith was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Parker Vance, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Granite Hills pushed their record up to 20-0-2 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their record now sits at 17-10.
Del Norte came up short against Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Nighthawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
