It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Alcoa had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cherokee Chiefs 56-0. Considering the Tornadoes have won nine games by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Alcoa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Blair Goodson, Micah Jones, Kenny Harris, and Nukeise Minor picked up one apiece. Harris has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played.
Alcoa pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.4 points. As for Cherokee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Looking ahead, Alcoa will head out on the road to challenge Upperman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes will need to watch out since the Bees have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Cherokee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
