Schley County dropped down to 4-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell  36-23 to the Taylor County Vikings. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Despite the loss, Schley County still got an impressive performance from   Blake Weldon, who rushed for 54 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, and also threw for 129 yards  on 16 of 26 attempts.
As for Taylor County, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 4-2. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games.
  Leland Holder had another great game (as  he tends to do), punching in two rushing scores, while also throwing for 86 yards and two  TDs. Those  two  rushing touchdowns gave  him a new career-high.
 Coincidentally, Schley County and Taylor County will both be playing Central the next time they take the field. The Vikings will  host the Hawks at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday, while the Wildcats will  host them  at 7:30  p.m.  on  the 17th.
