The Medomak Valley Panthers will take on the Lincoln Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Medomak Valley is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Brunswick on Monday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since May 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Lincoln Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Camden Hills on Monday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Windjammers. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Connor Nelson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Nelson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Lincoln Academy got a massive performance out of Andreas Eraklis, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Brody Day was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Lincoln Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camden Hills only posted an OBP of .318.
Lincoln Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Medomak Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Medomak Valley skirted past Lincoln Academy 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
