The Memorial Red Devils will be playing at home against the Crestview Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Memorial, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Memorial earned a 55-45 victory over Liberty. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Liberty is ranked 729th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Teyon Harris and David Moore were among the main playmakers for Memorial as the former scored 19 points and the latter dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season.
Crestview suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by LaBrae on the road and fell 88-46. Crestview has not had much luck with LaBrae recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Crestview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonathan Best, who scored 14 points along with five assists, and justin mckee who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Evan Neff, who scored four points.
Even though they lost, Crestview were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Memorial pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Crestview, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Memorial have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Crestview, though, as they've been averaging only 25.8 rebounds per game. Given Memorial's sizeable advantage in that area, Crestview will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Memorial against Crestview when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-45 win. With Memorial ahead 45-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.
