The Thompson Valley Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season. They really took it to Niwot for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-36 victory on the road. The win was just what Thompson Valley needed coming off of a 68-47 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Brady Kennison, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. The match was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gustavo Varela-bencomo, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Niwot lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Rodanski. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Niwot struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Thompson Valley pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Thompson Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34 points. As for Niwot, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thompson Valley will take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Niwot, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Frederick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
