Lucian Cruz Turns in Season-Best Effort
Alice was led to victory by Lucian Cruz, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Cruz rushed for 157 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023.
The victory was the third in a row for Alice, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Cruz and Alice will head out on the road to square off against Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

William Goodloe Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
William Goodloe produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Pioneer to the win on Friday. Goodloe rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. Goodloe and Pioneer will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sharyland at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Big Game from Harris As Sharyland Fell 57-32
Sharyland had to settle for second on Friday, but Calvin Harris sure wasn't going down easily. Harris was dynamite, throwing for 379 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown.
For the year, Harris has thrown 24 touchdowns while averaging 294.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 11.88 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 73.13 rushing yards.
