The North Panola Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Grenada Chargers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in North Panola's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
North Panola has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 26 points or more this season. They breezed by Rosa Fort on the road to the tune of 60-23.
Meanwhile, Grenada pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Itawamba Agricultural by a score of 71-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), Grenada still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Kelton Jones, who scored 27 points along with 8 rebounds. He scored a full 39.7% of Grenada's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Howard, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
North Panola has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Grenada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
North Panola and Grenada were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but North Panola came up empty-handed after a 68-67 defeat. Thankfully for North Panola, Cameo Noel (who scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
