Roseville is 0-3 against Burbank since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Roseville Tigers will take on the Burbank Titans at 7:00 p.m. Roseville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Burbank likes a good challenge.
Roseville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 77-67 victory over Foothill. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Mustangs are ranked 520th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roseville can attribute much of their success to Tyler Ritter, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and seven rebounds, and Oreste Yong, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 23 boards. Roseville is 15-5 when Yong posts eight or more rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Matthias Howard, who posted 16 points and eight boards.
Roseville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Burbank came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Miners by a score of 48-37.
Burbank had a senior duo take command as Michael Butcher dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Cedric Sydnor dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Butcher has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Korshawn Sanders-Thomas, who had nine points.
Roseville has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. Burbank pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Roseville has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Burbank struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Roseville and Burbank were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but Roseville came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Butcher, who went 7-for-9 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points along with five boards and four steals. Now that Roseville knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
