The J.L. Mann Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The game between J.L. Mann and T.L. Hanna wasn't particularly close, with J.L. Mann falling 73-57. While losing is never fun, J.L. Mann can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while T.L. Hanna is ranked sixth).
When it comes to explaining why J.L. Mann lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dontez Walker. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walker has scored all season. Thomas Davidson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
J.L. Mann bumped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for T.L. Hanna, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
J.L. Mann will be playing in front of their home fans against Mauldin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mauldin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Wednesday. As for T.L. Hanna, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
