Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Centennial's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Centennial got themselves on the board against Kellis on Thursday, but Kellis never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Cougars. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Riley Moncrieff looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centennial got a massive performance out of Jordynn McClain, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Olivas-Marrufo, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kellis only managed six hits.

Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.2 runs. As for Kellis, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Centennial is set to take on their familiar foe Willow Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kellis will square off against rival Sunrise Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
