Basketball Recap: Hueneme Falls Despite Big Games from Sebastian Juarez and Omar Valadez

Hueneme was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a 63-44 bruising from the Fillmore Flashes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-46 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Hueneme had strong showings from Omar Valadez, who posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals, and Sebastian Juarez, who went 7 for 13 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Valadez a new career-high in steals.

Hueneme's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Fillmore, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Hueneme wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-45 defeat against Pacifica on the 20th. As for Fillmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-41 loss against Burbank on the 18th.
