The Hough Huskies will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Cox Mill Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Hough comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Hough struggled with assists on Tuesday (Lake Norman Charter had 800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hough took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Norman Charter.
Despite their defeat, Hough saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cole Galombeck, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Cole Skovira, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even though A.C. Reynolds scored an imposing 59 points last Wednesday, Cox Mill still came out on top. Cox Mill enjoyed a cozy 78-59 win over A.C. Reynolds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cox Mill.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cox Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teeshon Smith, who scored 16 points along with 4 steals. James Carswell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The losses dropped Hough to 0-3 and Lake Norman Charter to 2-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hough have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cox Mill struggles in that department as they've been even better at 29.5 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
