Kapaun Mt. Carmel dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. Kapaun Mt. Carmel fell from No. 22 to No. 31 after going 0-1 over the past week. The Crusaders are ranked No. 2351 in the nation, and have an overall record of 15-8.
Carroll (20-5, 12-4) is red-hot, having won six straight games, the longest such streak in Greater Wichita City. The streak was extended by another game over the past week, a 4-3 victory over Blue Valley.
Denton Howell led the lineup this week with three hits and one RBI.
Heights's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only nine hits and three walks, both of which led the league. The Falcons' pitchers have been charged with only 113 hits and have struck out 168 batters.
